Back to hometown Lund

There is a Swedish saying that goes "borta bra men hemma bäst" which means good to be away but home is best. I used to think so before but now being away and being home has somewhat become almost the same when half of the year is on the road. It is however very nice to be back to the town where I grew up the first few years. Not the best time of the year though...

Lived here 3 years ago on the top floor for a few weeks while working in the Lund office.
8 am grill looking very very closed
Freeeeed! I've missed you buddy. From Beijing and Shanghai -> Lund for kebab

Hej Stockholm!

It's been 7 months since I was back in Europe. It's been many years since I had this long break from "home". Was nice to come back to knäckebröd, leverpastej & real fresh milk. Nomnom. Problem is that always when home you eat too much. Maybe just try a bit of this and that sums up...Totally worth it though. Got upgraded to the Superior suite with balcony over Stockholm city, lucky! Would have been great to have this room with balcony during the summer. Now in a snowy winter it wasn't much use, still amazing view.

Subway at around 5:30 am is pretty empty.
Monorail to Haneda Airport was a bit more packed
Snow! Haven't seen you in a looong time
Stockholm from the roof, making some ice coffee

Happy New Year 2017 from Tokyo !

You would probably think that a city like Tokyo is full of fireworks and parties when it's new year. Wrong! Probably the most quiet and peaceful city in the world when it come to New Years. Reason? NY eve for Japanese is pretty much like our Christmas Eve. No fireworks, no crazy parties (except for the foreign expats).

In Japan you go to the temple during the first day of the year. All temples in Japan are packed with people! Some come to que for hours to be the first visitors. Suppose to be more lucky...But what I'm sure it is is COLD!

Our Tsukuda temple before New Year...
And then our temple morning on January 1st. The que was stretching far beyond the picture
Meiji Shrine during NY night. People lining up...Was about 0 degrees so ain't gonna be no joy to wait here

Lot of people out on NY night in Omotesando. Streetfood!
New Years day restaurants offering free sake. So cute the way they handled it out in a Kimono! Gottta LOVE Japan.
 First sunset of 2017
Went for a run to Asakusa, the year starts beautifully! Skytree in reflection on Asahi's building
Ryogoku - The Sumo's train just around the corner here
A healthier 2017 with less meat
 Some Monja Street street art
New criminal looking passport coming up :D
Time to figure out this new year with team here
Biohazard 20th anniversary in Odaiba - Joypolice. Wasn't really good but at least checked off the list.
We went to worlds first VR zombie shooting game located in Joypolice. You have to book in advance to get tickets here because it's so popular. The gear consists of earphones, VR headset and a rifle. You are in a big room around 100m2 and then zombies just start coming from every corner. It's a non stop 20 minute survival and so cool! Anyone in Tokyo HAS to try this!! Costs about 15 euros. I'll be heading here soon again :)

Down the Mekong river in Saigon

Was very nostalgic to come back to Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City as it's officially called now. It was from here I started my first ever motorbike trip in Asia with James back in 2011. It was also here we spent the first time together with Mona. The food & coffee is just fantastic. Beware of bikes though, there are thousands and thousands. I really hope his city does not get over populated by cars, can't imagine how the streets will be like if all bikes be changed to cars.

Saigon is much more commercialised than Hanoi, lot of sky-risers here.

Nice welcoming gift in the hotel :)
Hotel inside was nicely done
Upside down?
SPA in Le Meridien hotel is worth a try. You really get the best massages for a great price
REX Hotel, where it all started
Street party, full of families and music was like being on a EDM fetival
Mr. Ho Chi Minh in front of the old French Town Hall

Lot of shops in a small space
Best Vietnamese food you can ever imagine can be found at Nha Hang Ng

Or you could also just buy street food
1 hour food masssage yes please, 4 dollars. And that was probably a rip off :D
