Around Singapore during Covid

My new office with Probi was faaaaar away in the west side of the city. Took me about 2 hours to get there with public transportation! Needless to say I didn't go there very many times because of that...A few months into the job I opened a new office for us closer to downtown just next to the Marina Bay Sands building. But, landlord decided to throw everyone on the floor out with 2 weeks notice. We packed our things and moved again to Telok Ayer which is a great location near so many restaurants and bars.

Old office rooftop was nice, but scorching hot

New office grounds were pretty cool

During covid there was not really that much social activity. I was elected to the Finnish Business Council board which was probably one of the best places to socialize with all the restrictions. Every month I arranged a network event in a bar or restaurant. Just like back in China!

FBC night at Heart Of Darkness

The Swedish chamber also organises a lot of networking events, this private members only restaurant 1888 is super nice!

During the pandemic I also started taking Korean classes. Thought it was time to learn something new!
The area around the school is very pretty
Sometimes it rains a LOT during lunch...

Graffiti in Serangoon
One of the most popular bars in Singapore - Skinny's lounge. Empty! This is a sight you will not see after covid is over
A bit of hike around chestnut forest trail
Don't get lost at the trail though....

HBD, copy paste copy paste

Chinatown normally super busy but during covid, dead. I've seen this lane so packed you have to go push your way through on holidays or busy weekends.
Old cookie shop with lot of plastered stuff

We did a lot of Hotel staycations all over Singapore during the covid times...Luckily I had racked up a few hundred thousand Marriott points which I was able to use for this. And with Platinum card it gave a tons of benefits like free food, drinks, upgrades etc.

Loads of HDBs build in the new area by the sea, a few notes in their elevators...
Some evenings from home look pretty amazing
How terrible our crime rates are here in Punggol!
