Xian Expo

Third trip this week, time to fly to Xian for an International Sourcing Fair. Xian is about 2 hours by plane from Beijing. The airport in Xian is located very far from the city center and it took a long time to drive. The first thing I noticed when I landed was the smell of burnt coal in the air. A lot like the smog in Beijing. I had a private driver who picked me up from the airport which was najs! The place was 1 hour late and I was affraid that no one would have greeted me when exiting the airport.

Airport elevator was barrier free...

Since I was here last time the city has changed a lot! There were so many buildings under construction and subway as well in January 2010. Now most of them were done and the city looked a lot more moderns. The nightlife was also a LOT better than before. Last time it was only possible to order 1, 6 or 12 beers or a bottle of Whiskey, now their stock had increased. And they even played Deadmou5 at MUSE!

Sharks in the entrance of the club, much like Shanghais M1NT
Mostly raining the whole time
The Bell Tower @ Nights
The fair was interesting and they had all kinds of products from heavy machinery to fruits and drinks plus some other "special" things. Scroll down and look at the images and you will know what I mean. The Expo started with about 100 drummers making so much noise we could not hear our own thoughts. And the drumming lasted for a long time followed by fireworks. After the fireworks and drumming there was an opening speech by the mayor and then evening banquet.

The next day after all the opening ceremonies and dinners it was time to meet some suppliers, sit down and talk business. The whole fair lasted for 3 days, for me it was a trip of 7000 km in 7 days in China.

That's us!
Found this cow meat pretty strange. In chinese it says that this cow: Listens to music, gets a massage, drinks beer and eats cooked food. I saw some samples of the meat and it really looked horrible, brown and dry.
Loads of chinese rice wine was on display
RARE WATER, will come out in bigger cities of China this year costing about 2 Euros. The description why it was rare was kinda funny, it said that it has been up in the mountains 7000 years and has all kinds of good minerals. Really? Tasted like normal Finnish tap water...
