Worlds coldest capital

Been walking around the city and getting to know it a bit better. Ulan Bator is actually quite small and reminds me quite a lot about Helsinki. There is one main street with the bigger department stores and high end new office buildings, it's very easy to find your way around here! There are also certain areas for expats to hang out at where they got intentional food and bars, quite a lot like Sanlitun in Beijing but a LOT smaller scale. The quicksilver has been quite low but it's been sunny so it hasn't felt very bad. Cold is also one thing that you just get used to after a while, at least ALL houses are warmed so it's never a problem to be indoors.

Chingis Khan on a horse by the Parliament house

Downtown picture of the new skyscrapers and offices
My friend Ghana taking an exam in road construction at Mongolia University of Science and Technology (MUST)

The Mongolian symbol, Jinyang (balance), water, earth, sun and 2 colums supporting and protecting the country
Bought a hand made leather case for my passport, looks cool
Views from Ramada on 8th floor
Gangnam style - Chicken seems to be everywhere
Street graffiti here, someone has been taking something else than water
Someone had med an awesome looking replica of Predator

Been eating dried meat, potato salad, dumplings with meat and drinking vodka with every single meal so far!
Siberian nuts, things that people eat here when visiting guests
FREEZE!
Traffic is terrible, potholes in the road and the cars do not let anyone pass before them
In the evening our car got stuck on a metal pole that was poking up from the street, we managed to move the car after some work though and off to spend Saturday night!

The statue in Sukhbaatar Square is Sukhbaatar on a horse, not Chinggis Khaan. Chinggis Khaan is in front of the parliament building. Cheers! C.
