Saigon --> Ba Ria - Day 2

Today we travelled about 140 km. Saigon's traffic is soooooo chaotic! Getting out of the city with miles and miles of trucks, bikes and cars was something I have never experienced before! When getting on the bike after 5 years of NOT driving I was kinda worried that I would not survive the traffic but here I am after a good days drive it comes kinda naturally back to you. This is something everyone should do, buy a bike and go on a roadtrip to Vietnam.
From Saigon we first set off to a Rubber Tree plantation. The rubber can be harvested for 9 months a year and one tree lasts for 60 years!! This brings a lot of profit since the rubber price has been going up up UP the last years. Vietnam is one of the worlds biggest rubber producers.
We visited one of the most famous Chinese Buddhist temple on the way. After coming out of the temple there were a bunch of locals who wanted to eat with us and we got this great picture of us all. The food was something mix of sweet what looked like Tofu. Not bad at all...

We went to see the Vietcong soldiers "Hideout" in the mountains. riding there was one of the most awesome things I have ever done! We went up the mountain with motobikes for about 15 minutes and half way there I could even feel the pressure in my ears like when taking off with an airplane. Was really really great! I took some videos from this place which I will upload later on Youtube when I have access to faster internet.
This was the Vietkong Generals hideout, you crawl into the cave for about 10 minutes, the spces are REALLY small, do not come here if you have claustraphobia! And when sleeping inside the mountain of rocks it's practially impossible to be hit by bombs or napalm. The guy lived here from 1966-1972...This how much have been going on in there rocks!

We stopped at many places for a break. There are thousands and thousands of places to stop at by the road! It's like a big street market all the way where ever you drive and it's CHEAP! For lunch for 3 persons we have been paying about 6 euros which includes drinks AND food. Hammock in 28 degress with an Ice coffee isn't so bad, is it?

Boooooooooooooooooorn to be wiiiiiiiiild!

When we reached Ba Ria we had a...special kind of dinner. First came the BBQ which was normal mutton beef. BUT we also ordered Goat cock-brain-balls, REALLY! We did! This is the first time I've been chewing on balls and James ate the whole "package". This will available on Youtube later. But let me tell you, cock & balls are not THAT deli...The BBQ was way better tasting :) If your very sensitive when it comes to food DO NOT WATCH THE FOLLOWING PICTURES!!

Hurts doesen't it? Ball slicing!

Cock, ball and Brainsoup

As a side dish they also had fully fertilized but "unhatched" boiled eggs. In short words this means a chicken that has not been hatched but ALMOST so you sort of see this "Chicken Feedus" inside the egg...I've seen this all around Asia...Local speciality!

Remember I told you before that ppl in Nanjing also eat that kind of egg? ...
And the pic with the brain reminds me of Hannibal the Cannibal ...
It is way much nastier than chicken feet.
