Forgot to add this post before heading back to Tokyo!
Gero is by train around 1.5 hours north of Nagoya. It's known for it's many many hot springs around the city. We went to enjoy 2 of them. One big and one small one. Really nice to sit outside in the strong cold wind with 42 degree water around yourself.
