Taiwan!

Chinese national day is here and we have 1 week vacation on Shanghai! Off to Taiwan the eastern neighbor of China. Taiwan actually belongs to China but not really. They have an own government, money, language, writings, flag etc.

I planned this trip for a long time booking hotels, tickets and checking out places to go but still kinda blew it. We were suppose to fly to Taipei the 30.9 but when coming to the airport we had no tickets...The site I bought them from had not charged my credit card but still sent me a reservation email about the tickets. So we had to go back home and somehow get new tickets. Problem was that when it's a national holiday in China EVERYONE travels and planes were full. After 2 hours of looking I finally found us tickets which were 300 euros more expensive and went to south of Taiwan - Kaosiung. After that I had to change all the hotel dates and cancel some but it was fixed shortly. Just lost some money on that. Anyway, the next day everything was fine and we were off to south of Taiwan to Kaosiung!

Taiwan's miracle, 2 bottles on top of eachother
We arrived late night and went to walk around. Randomly we found what is probably the biggest Disco Ball in the world! This place was called the Love Port. Looked very cool in the evening when the lights were dancing, strange thing was that there were absolutely no other people at all. Ghost town...

Olala in 3D!
Kaosiung was raining but we got a pair of raincoats and it was fine. Weather is warm so it's not that big a deal. It's great to sightseeing because there are no other tourists at anywhere to be seen.

Enter the Dragon...or tiger!
Our next stop is Penghu islands about 35 minute flight to the west from Southern Taiwan. Hope the plane can make it :) Tickets were as high as 50 euros...
