Loving Berlin

The first 2 days were chilling and hanging around at the beach. Really relaxing and the weather has been more than perfect so we also went to n. It's kind of a coincidence that Kevin HAPPENS to live just next to the Hostel I was staying at in Berlin around 2 years ago. The last 3 days I've been eating like there is tomorrow and not spots what-so-ever. Start looking like a swollen balloon.

Berlin is one of the only cities in Europe I would move to. People are nice, food is great, prices reasonable, there are so much history to see and it's easy to travel elsewhere in Europe from here. All in all a pretty perfect city. Nightlife wasn't bad either...

Traditional Berliner Curry Wurst

Went to the Stasi museum. For those of you who don't know what or who they are, here is a brief history:
After the second world war Berlin was divided into 2 parts: West and East. The Western part belonged to the Allied troops which are US, France, UK etc western countries. The Eastern part was given to Russia and a wall was build between the boarder of East and West Berlin. There is a place on Fredrichstraze where the boarder used to be. It is called "Checkpoint Charlie" and looks like this. You needed a Visa to go from East to West and West to East. Many people died while trying to escape the East...

Checkpoint Charlie FROM the west (notice Russian soldier)
Checkpoint Charlie from the EAST (notice American soldier)

In the East they had communism and a secret police called STASI who was monitoring the whole popuation. If you had a guest they knew who was at your place, if you had a phone call they were evesdropping. There is a really damn good movie about the whole thing called The Lives of Others. Check it out!!
Some Stasi gagets...
The were the European James Bond back in the cold war, look at the innovation!

Here are the best spots of Berlin around town!

The Sony Center
Walking around Fredrichstraze
If you have and kind of problem, call Richter! :D (He looks so helpful)

The TV tower which is suppose to be the symbol of Berlin (that's just what locals say, I still
Charlottenburg castle
Sure is...
Soooo cool limo! Imagine rolling with that into a club! James? We should get one

Brandenburg, the gate of victory for those people who ruled most of Europe back in the days
What is left of the Berlin Wall. Barbwire not included anymore...
The memorial for European Jews
Around 200 rocks put up...
Small labyrinth to walk in it

Kinda controversial that there is a hot balloon saying DIE hovering above the Jude Memorial...I Know it's German but still, only tourists here and I think many people have found this emmm, strange.
Going home was kind weird. There was the most beautiful sunshine and suddenly 10 minutes later there was a thunderstorm with lightning. The plane had to wait 20 minutes before was able to take off. But I was almost sure we were gonna crash, this small plane was going up and down like GT Bananas dancefloor (you who have been in Beijing knows)
HEAVY rain and lightning
